I have a one gallon tank I am wanting to setup for corals and some fish. I need some advice on lighting and filters any suggestions would be greatly appreciated thanks in advance!!
+1 on that, "some fish" really is just not an option on a 1g tank (or even 1 fish), you need to look at something larger. You should stick to shrimp and corals in a 1g.
Dude what about doing a jellyfish 1 gallon? My buddy did one with upside down jellys. he added some mexicana macro used a airline hose into a round ball shaped vase sitting ontop of his 50 gallon. the water overflowed the top of the vase into the 50. he used a cfl bulb for light and the jelly got big. he still breeds them down in az. but even a flaming prawn goby would benifit from a larger space then a 1 gallon. that btw is the only fish i would like to see in a one gallon with a pistal shrimp
Thanks for all the help I wasn't planning on getting alot of fish I was thinking maybe a shrimp or something I guess I put it on here wrong lets start over lol I need help with the lighting for corals in a 1g tank. I have a small tank that I have and I am wanting to have a small reef tank. I didn't mean to make anybody upset I would never put a lot of fish in a 1g aquarium I agree very very bad idea and not good for the fish at all.
Pic of the tank or what shape is it? Hob filter prob the way to go, should be enough flow. Only downer would be evaporation. Had a 1.5 set up and it was crazy evaporation, topping off every day!
I can't seem to dig up where I saw it, but I saw another small pico build like this where the person made a DIY 3-LED setup with 2 white and 1 RB on a small heatsink then installed it in a small lamp. It was a really cool looking setup.
