Hi RC,
I just bought a new camera. It's a Canon Rebel T5i and I love it so far. I'm new with this part of the hobby. This is why I would love some feedback so I can improve and take better ones. Thanks!

You're off to a good start :) I just got myself the same camera at the end of June and am enjoying it. If you're new to DSLR, I will HIGHLY recommend the Dummies book for the T5i written by Julie Adair King. I got my copy off Amazon for 10 bucks or so, and it is extremely informative. You will likely lose an afternoon or two just poking around the menus and seeing what's what.

Thanks for the info. I'll look for it, because I'd like to take advantage of that camera. Also, I have a 2 1/2 month baby girl growing toooooo fast and want every moment to be remembered.
Toothybugs, I will like to see this camera in good action. Can you pls post some of your pics? Thanks again!

Nice! I found that setting the white balance is amazing for tank shots. I use varying shades of white (usually plastic lids and what not, dunk it in the tank and make sure it is lit up by your lights and take a few pics. In settings you can go to custom white balance to set it with one of the refeence shots of the plastic or what have you you just shot.
This will dial down the harsh blue tones and make a more natural color...some like the rich blues though!

Thanks for the info! I'll have to try that out! I would like the more natural look! Do you know of any YouTube videos that show how to take tank shots? I'd love to use the camera to its optimal capacity!!! Any good shots you can post?

Just playing with my camera...

Toothybugs, great pics!
I'm using stock lense. It's the 18-55mm. Because I don't know to use it, I set it up in no flash  The others settings pops the flash and can't take good pics.

With daylight. One of my favorite fish... The starry blenny
