1week into cycle, brown crap everywhere

I've just got a coralife skimmer and 500gph pump on my tank right now while I'm making the fuge. I put live rock in last week and there is brown EVERYWHERE except for where the sand is in the current. I've heard that tanks go through two ugly cycles, but what do I need to get/do for this to go away quick? And I just found out that tanks cycle better when they are warmer so I went from 75(it's going to be for seahorses) to 83. Thanks ahead for the help!

Just diatoms. Very common to go through this as the tank cycles and stabilizes. Just grin and bear it until it goes away. Add a cleanup crew AFTER the cycles is done. No worries. ;) I would bring the temp down to 80.

You will go through a brown stage that should go away in about a week. Then youll get a green algea bloom. The second bloom is a sign your almost done with your cycle. Just be patient and the brown will clear up on its own. If you want to speed it up make sure that your powerheads, skimmer, and lights are running 24/7. If you used any sort of tap water to fill your tank the algea will last alot longer.

Brown algae is normal during cycling. Once your ammonia and nitrites are 0, and your nitrate is Around 10, do a small (15%) water change and add some cleaners, snails work the fastest IME.
