2.5 gallon lighting?

I just put together a 2.5. I looked and looked and looked at smaller PC satellites and I just wasn't happy with anything I found. The 11" 18w at Aqua Traders would fit reasonably well as long as you had glass lids - the 24w would hang over the edges a about half an inch on each end. The biggest problem when fitting the satellite is width. The 2.5g rectangle is only 6" wide (from edge of one border to the other), and the open area inside is smaller. So fitting a nano HoB filter and leaving enough room for a light is problematic. I decided to simply build a small canopy and retrofit a 27w quad PC I ripped from a desk lamp.

Here is what I used 26watt Catalina Aquarium 2 13watt 50/50s
Its like 30bucks and you can get replacment parts for it.

I had the odeysse 13 inch 24 watt light on my 2.5 gallon and it was nice and bright. Really nice light for the price. I now have the light on my upgraded 3 gallon pico and i still like it. Alot of people say bad things about odeyssee lights, but i have not had any problems with mine.

If I were you I would stay away from the odeysse . That stuff is just crap. If I were you I would go with the coralife mini pc 18 watt 50/50. Or like Shade00 said- retrofit a pc.
