I have a 90 gallon tank which will be primarily SPS with 1 or 2 LPS and some zoos down the bottom along with a clam or 2.

My rock work is pretty open, i have a shallow sandbed of abotu 1.5 inches

Will the dual 6000's be a good choice? would 1 larger pump be better?

Also what advantage other then being able to add more pumps on later would the multicontroller be rather then 2 single controllers?

I was planningon putting one pump on each opposite end of the tank hoping to have the pumps alternate every 20-30 seconds is that possible with teh controllers?

I would use 2 6000's and a multicontroller. The multicontroller offers two advantages. First, you can use tide mode where one pump runs and another doesn't. This will be at shortest 1min intervals to as long as 12hrs. The other advantage is that in pulse mode you can coordinate the pulses which may be seen as an advantage or disadvantage. It would be random with two single controllers but with the multicontroller the pumps will change settings simultaneously so you can have both go to high flow and both go slow or you can ahve them alternate one slow and one fast.
