2 6100's and multicontroller

I have two sets of 2 6100's w/ multicontroller, one set I had for a year, I had them so when one was on the other was off, ever since I got the new set, I cant get either set to alternate, I can get them to work simulatenously or interval mode, but i cnat get them to alternate back forth, what am I doing wrong, is somethign wrong with the multicontrollers?

You have to have one pump in the first socket and one in the last socket and have it set on tide mode- two arrows pointing at each other, the interval light will be on then and you set your interval betwen pumps.
