2 anemones - behavior questions

I recently got two "surprize" gifts in my second batch of TBS rock.

1. A Condylactus ? Anemone.

This one is beautiful light tan at the base turning into a nearly luminous green with purple tips. It stays put on the sand between two rocks. It eats well. Seems happy with the current and lights after a little bit of movement.

Q - I understand this not the best host. If I were to try what clown would be best and would it be a danger to the clown?

Q - By morning, lights off, he is often purple all over and deflated. Very soon after lights on he looks brilliant again. Normal?

2. Rock Anemone (called flower anemone on the TBS site)

This one is really white. Looks beautiful but I believe all white cannot be good. He insists on planting himself UNDER a large ledge. He eats good. He stays put if left under the ledge. He is in full view but looks odd hanging under the ledge - he does angle himself so he is facing forward which is nice.

Q - Should I worry that he seems to want reduced light?

All water param's are good. Tank is RSM 39 gallon. Propietary lights are dual 55w actinics. (tank is not modded)

Thank you all.

The Condi is from the Atlantic and most (all?) clowns are Pacific. So they are not natural hosts. I've read a couple of stories where Condi's attempted to eat a hosting clown. Other stories indicating success.

My Condi will suddenly deflate to the size of a quarter and later inflate. That's normal behavior.

Sounds like he wants less light. Does he come out when the lights are off?

Friend has had a tomato clown hosting in a condi for 6+ months no problems.

I've also heard that there are white flower anemones that are not bleached

Now that he is under the ledge he is happy and not moving. He also stays very plump and pretty - even with lights off.

So sounds like everything is as it should be.

I am wary about hosting. I may forgo the clown, I don't know yet.

Thank you all!!

Anemones routinely deflate to expel their water and "renew" it.

There is no natural hosting relationship between Condy anemones and clownfish. You could try the anemone crab though.
