2 Angelfish together?

I'll start off by saying I'm no expert...

The cherub is a supposed to be a pretty agressive angel, most of the dwarf species are. I'm not sure a 34g tank (what's the footprint) would be big enough for 2 moderately aggressive fish.

Its a 32" setup. I was looking in to the cherub as its the smaller out of all the angelfish they stay small and I can purchase one at 1", but just thought if I were to add a coral beauty at small size and they might be fine. I know the coral beauty would grow quicker. But if its a definite no then I will leave out the coral beauty. I'm only looking to keep 5 fish in the setup.

So really it comes to either keeping a cherub angelfish or a coral beauty?

Don't make your decision solely on me, like I said I'm no expert.

I did some searching around mostly because I'm curious about the idea myself. Mixing angels seems to be one of those things that can be done but may not be easy. I think the limiting factor in your situation would be tank size, I'm interested to hear what other people say.

I have multiple dwarf angels in 2 of my tanks, and IMO/E a 34 gallon is too small for 2, especially with a C. Argi being one of them -- they have a napoleon complex.

I was only looking to have a cherub as the only angelfish but thought some might have kept a coral beauty successfully together. I have decided that I'm only sticking with the cherub angelfish with some other smaller peaceful fish. Ive seen them in the shops and they look so innocent lol and seen them grazing on algae.

Do they require a lot of algae in their diet?

a 34 gallon with 2 dwarf angels is pushing it. if u must do it, make sure u have enough rocks for hiding and add them at the same time.

I wouldnt do it. Especially in such cramped quarters. I have a cherub in my 210 and he ran a flame hawk out of the tank. The hawk jumped. He terrorizes almost everyone from time to time. I have a buddy with a 300 and his cherub killed a flame angel. Another guy I had met said his was a bastard too.

Thanks for the responses, thats why I have decided to go against keeping 2 angelfish together.

Will algae be required diet for the cherub angelfish Ive read that they do eat a lot? I have got quite a lot of hair algae which only seems to be growing on one peace of rock.

Is this the sort of algae they would go for?

IMO/E with dwarf angels, mature live rock, with algae and other "things" growing on it goes along way towards their success and easier acclimation to tank life.

Thanks for the help :) :bounce1:
I already have 2 small chromis in there adding one more for a shoal and after adding in a sand sifting goby then I will consider adding it in next. Whilst then my avatar will be stuck as the cherub angelfish lol until I get a real picture of mine. :P

You can add a smaller cherub to pair yours up :). There are people with spawning pairs in tanks as small as 20 gallons.

It's pretty easy. Males are more robust looking, longer body, sharper fins, and bigger gill spines. Just wait until your cherub has some size and then pick up a smaller one. They'll figure it out, as they all start female and the dominant (larger) one becomes a male.

Thank you for helping out :bounce1:

Ive made a atank thread on ultimatereef but might make one on here, you can see how it works out.

Thanks again

I had both in my tank plus several other dwarf angels in my tank.My tank is 430 gallon though. They both hung out together even though I have a big tank

It is possible..

It is possible..

Hi would a cherub angelfish be fine with a coral beauty? Which one shall I add first?

Thanks

I have a Jbj nano 28 gallon.. I added two angels..
The trick is to have a water cage in the water.. After a week the two angels should get use to one another.
