2 Angels

My plan all along for my 125g was to have a majestic angel. I always liked the Chaetodontoplus angels and I have a chance to get a Chaetodontoplus melanosoma. Would these 2 get along. I've heard the best way to mix angels was different genus.

My guess is that they would get along in most cases. Majestics are as mellow as a Pomacanthus angel gets and the pomas aren't very aggressive either. My majestic is very mellow and doesn't bother even my most passive fish. A 125 gallon is on the smaller side for a two angel tank so I would plan on adding both fish at the same time and choosing smaller fish to start with.

I'm inclined to agree, however my majestic (currently about 4 inches) pesters the heck out of my blackback butterfly. Regularly chases him all over the tank and I mean a hot pursuit chase lasting 30 seconds, not just a charge. Interesting about the poma angel as I've thought of adding one to my system along with my majestic as well. I also have a coral beauty and a heniochus that the majestic doesn't even notice.
The majestic is a slow growing fish so having the poma as the larger of the two might help with any potential aggression issues.

Good advice - couldn't have said it better..... ;)

If you pamper your majestic, there is no reason why he won't reach his full, or near full potential size of 10-12"..... at which size you might want to consdier an upgrade..... but that will take a long time, and in fact may come to pass...... more often than not, majestics top out at around 8" after 4-5yrs, after which they grow very little, if at all......
