hey, right now i have a maroon clown about 3 inches, i still havent paired her yet but plan on doing it as soon as i can find another maroon to pair it with, i was wondering if you all think i can put a pair of perculas in there?

Im new but Im going to say probably not. Maroons are very aggressive so I dont think that would work.

I have given thought about putting to pairs of Osc's in the same tank. Im designing a tank for my house when I build it using the dimensions of my 30 breeder and just making it 3 times longer. And am hoping that I could get two pairs to host exact opposite ends. So there wouldn't be a territory issue. It would only be 90 gals like your tank. But they tank would be about 9 feet long.

agreed...maroons can be very aggressive....if you are going to pair it you have to make sure you get a male...a 3 inch clown is most likely already a female. In my 55 gal I have a yellow stripe maroon clown hosting in a BTA on the left side of the tank and two paired percs hosting a second BTA (split from the original) which luckily moved to the mid tank area. Territory seems to not be a problem but I'm quite possitive that if the percs and the YSMC got any closer there may be a war. 90 gal is a 4 foot tank right? If you're going to pair the maroon and put a pair of percs in be sure to introduce them to opposite sides of the tank...move some of the live rock around to confuse the maroon clown thats already in there as well when you add the percs. It's really just a toss up...anything could happen.

maroons are some of the most agressive clowns known to fish. It will be hard to pair a maroon with another maroon if they havn't been together long term, much less put percs in there. I have two pairs in my 90 bowfront but they are clarki and falsepercs, False percs stay on the top right side of my reef in a Ritteri Anemone, and the clarki's stay in a sebae on the bottom left side of my reef. There are big issues with territory but nothing to bad. I deffinately wouldn't try maroons though. My case is rare.

Multiple clown pairs

I agree with the last post. I have a clarkii pair hosting in a Haddoni on the bottom right of my tank and an ocellaris pair hosting in a Magnifica on the top left of my tank. The tank is 300 gallons and before I got a mate for the large clarkii, whe used to harass the heck out of the ocellaris pair. Now all is peaceful again. :p
