2 damsels not looking good...

I bought a 40 gallon breeder tank already established online and transported it. It came with 4 damsels. I have personallly had the tank for almost 2 months. My water is crystal clear and I tested the water this morning. Ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 0. Last night I installed a powerhead and used distilled water to top off the tank from evaporation. This morning 2 of my damsels are opening and closing their mouths rapidly looking like they are gasping for breathe and swimming really weird at the bottom of the tank and one is hiding. I am really worried. What could this be? What do I do?

Damsels will survive cycling to a point. How are you airiating the system? Skimmer? Surface agitation? Could be an O2 issue.

The 2 damsels are dead. I don't understand what happened. My heater is working. My filter is working and my water perameters were perfect this morning and the last few times I tested the water
