I have coral beauty and would like to add a flame angel... I have read they can be aggressive to similar species, but I have also read this about tangs and I have 4 of them in a 120g, including a Sohal...

In the wild a tang crosses hundreds of yards, what's your point?

I paired two coral beauties in a 55 reef. I think a non pair (two different species) might be more difficult. My tank was also packed to the hilt with LR, so tons of hiding places.

I had a coral beauty and a very very agressive halfblack angel in a 75 and they got along fine. every other fish i got the halfblack killed.

I think the key is to add them at the same time. If the coral beauty is established, then it might be a problem. I did keep a coral beauty and a bi-color angel in my 55 for a year til we broke the tank down if that helps you any.

They are usually fine if added at the same time. If your CB is well established in your tank, your best bet might be to add a flame that is an inch longer than the CB. Just be prepared that you might have to remove a fish.

I'd be interested to hear how the Coral Beauty and Flame Angel work out...

I would like to keep those two species plus a Regal Angel in my 180. Is this possible, considering they say "Only 1 Angel Per Tank'?????

I think the 1 angel per tank has recently become old school - - they should be added at the same time and have lots of LR. And some won't tolerate each other - I don't think there's enough info yet as to which species tend to tolerate which others species or if that's even definitely a factor

Here are my 4 in a 100g that they also share with a Singapore angel

thanks for the tip. Once the tank is established, I'll try adding them at the same time. btw, marie...your pic looks great!

Thanks! Not great photography- but it was nice that they all posed together.
