2 Dwarf Angels in an 8ft tank?

Will I be okay with adding a second dwarf angel to an 8ft tank (approximately 300 gallons)?

I have a flame angel that I added a week ago, and I'd like to get a Potter's Angels. I know that the best case scenario would have been to add them at the same time, but I was hoping perhaps the tank was long enough for them to establish separate areas for territories with minimal violence.

You should be good, I added a Potters to my 290 with an established Coral Beauty with little to no aggression.

I had a lemon peel and a flame in a 6' tank for a number of years without any problems, so you should be fine.

The fish will do fine but the lfs has a flame and potters in a 500 gallon 8ft tank and the flame always chases the potters and these were added at the same time . The flames can be aggressive but not all, and potters can be hard to keep. If you do it add the fish sooner than later before your flame is really established.

my $0.02 for what its worth, is that the flame is one of the more aggressive dwarf angels, and the potters is one of the least..... if it were the other way around I would see no problems, but to be honest I think the flame would persue teh potters relentlessly..... and the portters isn't exaclty the most hardy of fish either..... mu intuition here says that the flame will terrorise the potters, preventing it from feeding, and it will eventually die "mysteriously" within about 3 months...... if the falme doesn't just out and out kill it.

I have an 8x2x2 tank....... and I wouldn;t do it.

A buddy of mine has a 450 and at one time had a flame, an eibli, brazillian flameback, a cherub, and I think a coral beauty in the same tank. I think it depends on the personality of the fish as well.

i had a bi color a pair of flames and a coral beauty in a 5" tank with little problem. From time to time the bi color and male flame would flair up but never fight, and the CB just kinda did as it wanted. All fish where added with in a few weeks of each other, the CB was the first b/c its the least aggressive.

Don't mean to hijack the thread but I'm in a position to add an African Flameback to my 5 foot 120 gallon that has an established coral beauty. I can move rock around to some extent. My lfs would take the flameback back if things go south. Opinions?

pygmy angels

pygmy angels

I had a 90g mixed reef setup for over 10 years and routinely kept two different species of pygmy angels with very few problems. There was over 300# of live rock with ample hiding places and generally after a brief introductory period of squabbling, the fish settled down and coexisted well. Your tanks is MUCH larger than mine and I'd bet you could successfully keep half a dozen different angels in the tank.

I'm keeping 8 pygmies in my 600g, 1 CB, 1 Golden, 2 Flames, 2 Lemonpeels & 2 Potters. Other than an occasional shoving match there is really no warfare at all, the agression is diffused. I think lots of live rock helps also so they can have their own space...

Do any of these dwarfs pick at corals? If not you should grab a pick 4 ticket on the way home from work every day!
