Icecap's electronic ballasts are the most advanced ballasts you can buy. 94 percent efficiency and a lower running temperature that has less of an impact on ambient temperature. The lower temperature also increases the lifespan of the ballast dramatically. The lifespan of your bulbs are also extended by the soft-pulse ignition that is less damaging on the bulbs' electrodes. Bulbs last longer and have less lumen degradation than those used with other ballasts.
All wires are enclosed in a plastic project box to protect from water and salt creep. These ballasts are the electronic start ballasts not magnetic. The electronic ballasts give more life to the bulbs.

These were used for 5 hours a day for less then a year. They are in perfect working order. The difference in the cases is a packaging change from Icecap. I will throw in the reflectors as they have a bit of salt creep on them.
