2 nems - just plain gone!

Hello,
I bought two LTA about 2 days before I left on a week and a half vacation at the end of July. I had a friend, who I completely trust, taking care of my tank. Basically she just watches it for any differences, feeds them some flakes every other day or so. And about a half way into my vaca she said she couldn't see them anymore. So of course I'm like great, their gonna nuke my tank and there is nothing I can do about it because I'm 5 1/2 hours a way. So I told her what to look for as far as signs they might have gotten into the power heads. It's just a plain old 75 gallon reef tank with HOB filter and skimmer, no over flows. Well we are more than half way through September and absoluty NO sign of them. I have a bare bottom tank and although I can't see all the nooks and crannies I think I would see them if they are hiding in cracks and inflated. There were pretty big, well big for me. Is it possible my little crab go to them? How come it didn't nuke my tank? Here are pics of what they looked like when I first got them, bleached from the pet store but still very pretty and they were already eating freeze dried shrimp, gobbled them right up. [/ATTACH]

Keep in mind that the actual flesh is really thin, hence why they are so easily damaged.

If they decided to deflate they will really be nothing more than paper thin flesh.

Depending on your CUC they may have already been cleaned up.

Look under the edges of all the rocks? My rbta disappeared once for over a week, it was hiding in the back and came out for short spells to get some sun and retreat back. Now it is out in public and happy.
