I just ordered 2 new 6105's and I have an apex controller. I purchased the apex 2 channel stream cable and so far all I know is that I need to hook the powerheads up to the variable speed outlets 1&2 using the cable. My tank is a 72 bowfront so I'm a little worried about using these pumps at full power right away. Can someone point me in the right direction so I can read up on programming. I've only had my apex setup for a few months now so I'm not great with creating profiles and programming. Any plug and play tips is appreciated. I just don't want to create a sandstorm or blast my corals or anemone(s) had one rbta but it split.

Right now I have 2 koralia power heads which I am replacing with 6105's. the one on the right is aimed towards the back glass and towards the upper part of the tank. The left powerhead is aimed towards the front of the tank a little above the middle. I'm trying not to blast my lps and my anemones and also trying to keep the sand from showing the glass underneath. The way my rocks are setup against the back glass I can't put the powerheads there. Any tips on placement? Or should just put the 6105's where my koralias are?
Given the small tank size I would set the power supplies on the 6105 to only 12V, you will get 3 jumpers, 12, 18 and 24V. I would probably use the wide flow housings as anemones prefer a more diffuse indirect flow. Regarding specific Apex settings I would ask in the Neptune forum or perhaps an Apex user could chime it. I would likely only run one pump at a time at 6 hour intervals and pulse the pump that is on. I would aim them further to be diagonal across the tank.
Pulse mode means alternating between 2 speeds every few seconds. I have never used an Apex, only our own controllers, so the details of how to set that up would need to be asked in the Neptune forum. I can't see using 24V in a 72 gallon tank, the jumper is user changeable at any time, set it to 12V and then you start off where 100% of power is roughly 50% of what it would be at 24V and 100% and you have a much greater range to work with. At 24V a pair should be able to handle a 180 or 210.
Thx for your help Roger I will post questions regarding apex programming in the Neptune forum but just to be clear the jumper is part of the powerhead and not something sold separately right? Also if I set the powerhead to 12v can I use it at 100%? And to get a pulse would I just alternate the speed by changing the intensity ( min and max) every few seconds. For example 5 seconds at 50 intensity than 5 seconds at 100 intensity. I can change the times and intensity if needed but is that how to do pulse? Sorry if I'm making you repeat yourself

I'm installing tomorrow and for now I set the programming to pulse from 0-30 but I don't want to burn out the pumps and I don't want to create a lot of extra noise. I haven't installed them yet so ill post some pics so you can let me know if my placement is ok.
