2 part Epoxy

Hi Randy,

Are all 2 part Epoxy reef safe? I am planning to let them be 100% cured before rinsing and returning the glued part into the water.

Any chances of leaching toxins for 100% cured & hardened expoxy?

I would not assume that all two part epoxies are reef safe. I used to work for an adhesive company years ago, and the list of ingredients put into adhesives is very large. Frankly, without having seen the accrued experience of many aquarists over the years, I wouldn't have assumed that any epoxies are reef safe. So given that, I'd stick with brands that you know a fair number of aquarists have successfully used without apparent problem.

Once totally cured, it is still possible to be a problem, but much less likely.

Is it a workable idea, if suppose I seal off the hardened surface with a layer of silicon glue (used for constructing tanks)?

I'm planning to glue a piece of Tunze magnet holder to a SEIO pump...

That should be OK, and putting some silicone over the epoxy seems like it would beneficial.
