2 tanks 1 sump need help

so i built the refugium for my 125 in my guest room and now the wife wants a fowlr whitch will be a 75gal i was thanking of running my hang on AquaC Remora skimmer and fluval fx5 on my 75 but spencer came up with the idea of running both the return pump is the oceanoic 3500 ill run a y and go to both tanks and im goin to get the 75 drilled



here is a little about the tank

msx200 skimmer
Light Bioload 350
Medium Bioload 230
Heavy Bioload 175

the 125 has around 300 pounds of live rock and been set up for a year and 3 years at the old house

the sump is a 55 and the refugium part is 25 gal

i dont see why it wouldn't work, that is how i have my set up running. both tanks drain into the same sump, and then just "t" off of the return up to both tanks. the skimmer might not handle the whole setup, mainly because if the 75 is going to be a fowler, then it will most likely be heavily stocked. and fish like triggers, puffers, eels and angels are heavy poopers. so make sure you keep an eye on your water params to make sure that your trates and phosphates dont creep up on you.

i have a AquaC Remora skimmer laying around should i put that on the 75 and still have it running thought the sump refugium so its like exta just for the 75

no, the remora wont do much but create extra noise and micro bubbles.

im also goin to hook up my fluval fx5 with carbon and the sponge i clean it out onece amonth i only keep the top tray with the sponge for easy cleaning ....

i love the remora works like a beast why wont it still work that good ?

i had a remora and hated it, if it works for you than great! i just dont see id doing that much imo.

ok i wasent sure if running to skimmers would be fighting each other .. but if it helps a bit ill do it but if not im not goin to i just know ill have simi big fish in the 75 so i want to do this as safe as possable
