I would really love this size tank. I was wondering if anyone has a similar size cube tank that I can see some pictures of.

Also, does anyone have any idea of how much it would cost to have one built? any recommendations of places who do build?

Here is my 24" x 24" x 16" tank. I paid $450 to have it built, but I did not want any top bracing. I am sure it would be cheaper if you had it braced along the top. He could use smaller stock on the sides. The tank it also built out of acrylic and not glass.

Nice.
I can't wait to get one. I love the look of it. I like that you choose to go with the 16"

what light are you running on that? also, if you don't mind me asking, who built it and was the overflow box part of the cost?

Scott at Aquatic Systems Design bult the tank and yes the overflow box was included in the cost of the tank.

I am running a 250w XM 15k bulb in a Sunlight Supply Lumen Max Pendant Reflector. I want to switch out to a 20K bulb.

Also, Scott is currently building me a nano calcium reactor for this tank.

If you have any questions just let me know!

Calvin, just got done reading a lot of your threads. I've been following them all for awhile. Hence the reason I'm looking into a 2X2X2 cube tank, sucks to hear that you are leaving the hobby.

Anything you would change about the cube? would you guys go bigger, or deeper?

Go with glass if you could? or do you prefer acrylic

Well I'm not leaving the hobby, just doing a small vacation... I hope to have my lagoon setup once some other priorities are taken care of...

I loved my tank, I loved the acrylic, and I loved the clarity, but sometimes I wish I would have done glass. Not saying I would change it, but getting in the tank and wiping everything by hand sucks... Magnets are so much easier but on the other hand it would have been heavy and not nearly as clear, what it comes down to is your personal preference... The only item I would have done different is a supersquirt instead of the squirt so I could push more flow for SPS, and I would have done a larger top off reserviour. I have to fill that 2.5 gallon bucket daily. :D That's about it...

any pictures of the tank severum?

What made you go with that size? Again, if you don't mind, what was the cost?

I wish I could check out there website, but it's down for repairs.

If you email scott from his website he will quote prices and maybe send you pictures of tanks he has done.

let me take some pics...

it was free because at my high school the science department didnt want it...
it came with a stand and all

it is eurobraced so it is very easy to maneuver around...

give me a second and ill get a picture or two...:)

I see brandon has a chiller. Alien do you have any problems with heat. A friend of mine's tank just cooked last night and I was just wondering if you guys had any issues with your tanks?

Nope...i hope i dont jinx myself ;) ...i have never really had a heat issue surprisingly... in fw or sw...

i have two pupms running within the tank...but the pcs have an internal fan and it is an open hood..so i guess that helps. :)

Btw...im planning on getting a pair of anthias for this tank...what do you think?
