2 Yellow Tangs in a 120g Tank?

We will soon be combining the contents of our 75g tank and 120g tank. Both tanks have a yellow tang in them. One is small and one is large.

My question is can we keep two yellow tangs in a 120g tank without them fighting a lot?

That might be a little tight for 2 - is your 120 4ft long?

You're never going to know unless you try it. I'm sure some people have succeeded and others have had problems. If you give it a shot, be prepared to rescue someone.

I had a 120 for many years and I never tried 2 tangs. My lone purple tang ruled the roost and I think a 2nd tang would have caused problems. I would try to sell/trade one of the yellows, but that's just me being conservative.

from what i read, if you introduce both of them into the new tank at the same time, the chances of success are much better.
but if they are of drastically different sizes... that might not work out so well.
