Almost finished setting up my 200 gallon square tank. 48"x48"x20"

Its built into the family room wall and the back side is in the furnace room

couldnt go any wider as there is a post on the right side which holds the beam above it. so went 4 feet front to back to enable me to keep larger fish.

with the aquascape that i decided to create it allowed me to create a frag section in the back side

tank is located under the stairs so i made a custom light rack thats attached to the wall with a piano hinge and hanging on chains on the other side.
It supports 4 Radions and 4 AI Sols about 8 inches above the water.

Running an aqueon proflex acrylic sump, remote refugium and a large protein skimmer.

in the next few days i will be hooking up a PM kalk reactor, and a cad lights bio pellet reactor.

Internal flow comes from four MP40wes and one MP10wes.

All controlled by a Neptune apex

I will post more photos of the filtration area as soon as i clean up the wiring and get everything going

Now that is nice and a good idea.

OK, yes... Please fill us in on the mechanical and the livestock.

Do you have any build pics?

What skimmer is that?

OK I have lots of questions. BUT.. I will let you post some more and then I'll ask questions.

Thanks guys.

I used sol and radions because I had 4 sols from my old tank and just added 4 radions.

Skimmer is a bashsea 12" x 30" rated for 1000+ gallons

It's a special order item usually made to order.

It's being fed by a reeflo barracuda pump

Really, really nice! Love the aquascape.

No general rule that I know of. Unless the skimmer is massively oversized, you should just run the air wide open and adjust the skimmate production (wetter/drier skim) with the water level valve.

Looks like you have a good froth going in the neck. IMO, I get the best results when the finer bubbles are sitting just below the neckline and most of the neck is filled with bigger bubbles. Not sure if that's what you were asking.

You may want to replace that rack with something other than eggcrate. I have not seen many tanks where snot algae isn't covering the grate.

Thanks. I just don't know if I should be pumping extra air or not.

Seems to be working well now.

Thanks. Currently the skimmer fills the cup with bubbles and I can't even see what's going on in the neck. How do I make these bubbles pop?

That is a very tidy and ingenious build. I love those dimiensions. You can do so much with that. Great Job!!!

looks great, love the aquascaping and frag rack. Your tank is the dimensions i would have liked, ended up going with 48x36x24.

I decided not to go in wall due to the amazing depth of the tank and ruining the ability to enjoy that depth. Are you happy with your decision to go in wall? Do you feel that some of the depth and enjoyment is lost being unable to view the sides (from the front at least, looks like you can from the 'fish room').

Loving the build so far. Good work!

I was restricted by width so I went deep so I could keep tangs. I don't think anything is lost by it being in the wall. I can see the other 3 sides from behind
