It is time to elect a new Board of Directors (BOD).
We will start nomination now. Well, actually we started last Saturday, at the meeting.
So, nominations will be on the web, (RC or R TWO R) from August 20 through August 31.
Voting will start on September 1, 2011. We will be able to vote from September 1 through September15. The new BOD will take control at the September club meeting.
Suggestions (not rules, HA!):
1. You can nominate yourself.
2. If you nominate someone, before you do it, contact them and see if the will serve in that position.
3. Keep in mind that we are a group of people who have a common interest. Just in cast "“ the common interest is "œpromote the reef (coral/fish) keeping hobby and have the healthiest - happiest corals and fish we can have." It is not to compete with any other clubs. It needs to be fun and informative. It can save you some money, time, and effort it we do it right, I think.
4. A BOD member should think he/she has been given a chance to be of greater service to the club.
5. As a result of the duties (serve the members) BOD members will need to be willing and able to devote some time.
6. All "paid up" members are allowed to nominate, by nominated, vote, and serve of the BOD.
Notes to those who will allow their names to be nominated:
1. Keep in mind that we are a group of people who have a common interest. (And all that other stuff)
2. A BOD member should think he/she has been given a chance to be of greater service to the club. It is a position more of a servant than one of a ruler. It almost sounds silly when I say it (ruler). There is a degree of power that comes with the responsibility. From the outside, you may see power. From inside the BOD, you see responsibility.
3. As a result of the duties (serve the members), BOD members will need to be willing and able to devote some time. (The few months before swap time "“ a lot of time)
