2011 MACNA coming to Des Moines

MASNA has accepted our bid to host the 2011 MACNA in Des Moines on Sept 9th to the 11th.

What is a MACNA? MACNA is an acronym for Marine Aquarium Conference of North America.

Think of a Fall Fest, and then mulitply it by 10. There is usually over 100+ vendors & 1000+ attendees, and over a dozen speakers.

What can you do?

We are going to need a ton of help! We will be forming a MACNA committee soon.

For now you can make plans to join us in Orlando this fall.

As much as I am excited that it will be nearby and I won't have to travel to attend.....Des Moines is lame as hell! lol I'm not joking either, I've lived in Iowa for 25 years, and......gawd this place is lame as hell.

No it is final, MACNA 2011 will be in Des Moines. A better way of saying it would be they have awarded the Conference to GIRS and Des Moines!

I will have to respectfully disagree with you about Des Moines. I have spent time in most major cities in the US and Des Moines has a lot to offer. Two things being low crime and low costs. A third being GREAT PEOPLE! Iowans are the best!

lol Okay! Didn't mean to rough up anybodies scales, you've got to reserve some humility about your home state no matter where you're from though. Surely everybody can sympathize with that viewpoint.

I'm telling you guys though, as soon as I graduate I'm moving east where all the good seafood is fresh! Don't ask me how I'm going to move a 120!

Been a lot of places, and you're right about no Sears Tower, but what the heck is that for. Des Moines is a great place to live. Might not be a great vacation destination, but a great place to live. You're close to Minneapolis, KC and Chicago. It's a place with good restaurants, a great farmers' market, great beer, and a lot of interesting people. There are also more jobs than in a lot of those places. Mark me down as a lover of Iowa.
