20H drilling sugestions

where should I put the hole? What works best for a 20H.

If I drill the bottom then I'll also have to cut a hole in the stand for the plumbing. Its one of those cheap pressed board ones from petsmart.

I'd love to have surface skimming since its such a small tank, but I dont think thats possible if I drill the back instead of the bottom.

i had a 20gh drilled and it was one in each side in the high side not the botton, you can do the same if you going to put just 2 holes, or how many you thinking to drill???

you can have surface skimming if you use some 90 degree pvc with a strainer

i'd check with the manufacturer to see if the bottum is tempered before drilling it.

just drill the back and use a 90

I just drilled the back of my new 20h yesterday. I used a 90 degree and a strainer. I did a wet run outside (just in case) and just cut a new piece for the strainer to match the water level I wanted. If you do this, just make sure you put the hole low enough so you can cut the pvc to fit.
