20k gallon reef

On the subject, check out this guy's site: http://www.oregonreef.com/
His name is Steve Weast, and he's been running that site and posting on RC for a while now in both the SPS and large tank forums. He's really cool, and has kept a really cool tank, but recently he lost most if not all of his inhabitants due to I believe a leak somewhere in the tank and OD of RO/DI.

There are some really amazing beautiful tanks around.

Hey Eric that reed was simply amazing-perhaps one of the top 3 I've seen in this hobby. I believe the pics on his site are from his rebound setup(believe that lol )
He actually freak out s/p a trip and instead of waiting for am for a water change used dechlorinated water for a water change and the morning after all was gone. Sad but true:(

Man, if you're right and those pictures are from his rebuild.... I dunno Manny... I don't know if I can continue living... Such a sweet setup. But love and dedication is a very strong force, especially in this hobby, so it's certainly possible that it's all the rebuild. That gonna be the size of your new tank when you finally decide to upgrade? :p

First I need a new home and a room completely dedicated for the tank then maybe! someday I'll be back in the 500 club again.:D
Anyways this pics are truly sick!!
Eirc here's what happened-"Thursday morning, I did a water change and decided to clean the powerheads on my skimmer since I haven't cleaned those in over a year. I got everything up and going, when I got a call that forced me to leave earlier than I had planned.

I returned home around 10pm......meaning that I was gone some 14 hrs. Well, apparently, clean skimmer pumps are much more efficient than dirty ones......so, the skimmer proceeded to overflow and empty my entire 200 gal sump down the drain. I had to do something....and since I had no water made up and it would take two days to generate 200 gals....I was forced to use tap water. Our water up here is actually not too bad out of the tap.

I also had some dechlorinator on hand that I've had...but never needed....for years. I filled the sump, mixed in dechlorinator, salt.....mixed well.....and powered up. Everything was back on line....went to bed.

I woke up Friday to the tank of death....every single sps coral is gone. All ricordea....gone. Fish and lps are fine....anemones...not happy; but alive. I removed all the dead stuff.....some seven buckets of sps heads ....some two feet in diameter.....very sad."

Anyways this guy really has a coral finger(green finger)!
Try to count the amount of rics heads in the rocks to the left! just as an example of quantity and quality. The other day I saw one of my buddies holding tank(soon to be his display corals that has as many maybe more in several rocks-SICK PICS I WILL GET AND POST)

Steves size tank will be the tank Gasman keeps his water change water in!
Tperk that tank is roughly about 850 display-prolly about 1.3 total volume not far from Joe's tank(NYVP).

I'm one of the guys that downgraded from a bigger system to a more manageable 200( but been there and its so much fun) so much to learn and with todays technology who kn ows the sky is the limit when it comes to reef keeping.

You guys are not helping me, I am negotiating some space in my dinning room I was happy with a 5' X 3' that seems a done deal but now I need to renegotiate.

Steave also has 2 temperate water tanks set up...really cool! If you look them up on here you will find him. Thats such a shame that happened to his tank...it was so amazing...
