20L finally started

Finally got water in the tank, turned up the heat, got the power heads running and crushed some rock and dead coral for the AC70. I let it clear up and run for a couple days and tonight added a spice of live rock and bacteria to get this thing seeded!

I'm extremely excited about the start of this tank and I thank everyone that has given me their input and can't wait for more and to learn the struggle I'm about to take on.

The last things I'm waiting on is my light AI prime HD and my test kit, which will be here tomorrow (weather permitting).

Congrats looks good. What you going to stock it with?
Being that I'm beginning new with salt for the most part, I'm going to try some very basic beginner fish like a fire fish, maybe some sort of goby. I'd also like some small crabs and snails as well.

As far as corals go I want to do again easier to maintain more forgiving corals. I hear gsp is near impossible to kill and will grow like mad. Devils hand look cool (not sure of its temperament). I'd really like to do some zoanthids on that far right rock and see if I can train it to take the top of that cave over.

Any suggestions for beginner corals or fish is going to be greatly appreciated though. I'm going to let this thing run for a several weeks and cycle before I introduce anything.

Just from my experience, i think you have a lot of rock and it will get crowded fast once you start putting corals in, if you have a sump you can throw the rocks in there. But looking good.

There are otther corals even more resistant than gsp.Try caulastrea furcata (candy cane coral),duncan coral and discosoma mushrooms.Devils hands(sarcopithon) grows too big for your aquarium .Fire fish and a goby, maybe criptocerus cinctus its about all the fish you can fit into that aquarium .You could also add a porcelain anemone crab that doesnt necessarely needs an anemone .If you want a crab thats the only trully reef safe crab looking creature(it is in fact a lobster that looks like a crab hence the non crab mentality).

I was afraid of this, so I was wanting to find corals that are going to be slower growing. I know GSP isn't the best candidate for that but I hear it's fairly easy to cut back. Unfortunately I do not have a sump at the moment and that's why I put more rock than desired in there so I can offer enough breeding ground for goodies.

Thank you! The candy cane looks like something I'd want to have for sure, I like the corals with the bottom look like that. The Duncan coral stands out a lot to me as well I can think of several places I'd like to try to get on to place a foot down. As far as the fish go, I know I won't be able to house much of anything and I'm fine with that. I thought you had to have an anemone to keep a porcelain crab? So even some of the small hermit crabs are going to be dangerous towards the corals eventually?

Are blue legged hermit crabs reef safe? I've been told to stay away from most crabs yet live aquaria stats they are one of few that are safe to keep.

Also I changed my scape just a bit so I can have more height diversity for various critters and corals.

one thing to consider, if you are in love with the way that rock looks you can cut the back sides of the rock so they sit farther back in the tank and the front still looks the same, thats what I'm doing on my nuvo 40
