I’ve tried both, no difference I could see but I wait 7 days and test only for nitrates.
In 7 days if we have nitrates, we are cycled.
But if you have both, use both, mixes likely not the same so take the potential diversity.
 
This is just my opinion, no scientific data or experiment done to prove it.
My thinking is if we are to mix multiple bacteria strands in the very beginning, they will try to fight each other to out compete. In my opinion most of their energy will be wasted fighting off other bacteria rather than converting ammonia.
How much of their efforts are wasted or how much ammonia they will convert vs if there was only 1 strand of bacteria, again anybody guess unless actual testing is done to prove.
