I painted the backs and sides of my TTM and QT tanks using rustoleum from Lowes and just rolled it on with a cheaper foam roller from the dollar store.
I spray painted mine with leftover Fusion but really the way to go is with Plasti-Dip. You can easily just peel off the sheet if you ever want to sell the tank or change the look of it for any reason.
I used the paint below. My wife found it at the local walmart in the crafts department. It took three coats and looks great.
If I accidentally scratch it I cover the scratch with black electrical tape and all is good.

Exactly. Plan on getting a few cans, it doesn't hide all that well. Also plan on letting it dry several times longer than regular spray paint - the solvents in that stuff are pretty wicked.
