220G Design Help

Ok, so im in the process of building my stand for a 72x24x30 mixed reef.
(Currently have a RSM34D), i have several ideas as to how to accommodate my needs but im hoping for some design input and ideas from the veterans here on RC.

1. im going to tile the stand, and any additional cabinetry needed

2. everything will have to be self contained in the stand or in one additional cabinet

3. i am considering very strongly to use a tank similar to Lastlight's with an external overflow etc. "pro's and cons?"

4. I am also undecided as to do closed loop or just additional power heads, if i do closed i will run 2 of the outputs under the sand to push flow to the front of the reef " all input here is welcome also"

My current idea so far is to have the tank stand contain the sump/pump/reactors/wiring/etc, then build another cabinet to go to the right of the tank to house water change equipment; "possibly a chiller also", with a shallow/rimless display refugium on top

Im not so good with sketchup, so i found a model and textured it like what i had in mind, it turned out so well that i plan on replicating the stand so far "unless someone shows me something better; hint hint" yet im wanting a low profile hood on it, so disregard the lighting fixtures :)

Im also considering doing a fake rock back wall "Any input?"

So guys lend me some design help :D any ideas or sketchups would help

External overflows are the way to go. Gives you a clean appearance, no obstructions on the backside of the tank for flow. Im working on my CL design right now. Im planning a hammerhead pump fed by (2) 1.5" holes, and (6) 1.5" returns on the bottom of the tank. Should have a nice flow across the whole tank. I use a CL on my frag tank and i love the flow, its a lot of volume, but not velocity.
