220gal Plywood/steel hybrid. Pull up a chair, this will take a while.

True, but with tanks, if you can get half out of it compared to market new, you're doing well.

I've given smaller tanks away :(

So have I. I don't think this tank fits the regular market though. And it shouldn't. It is, in fact, art and craftsmanship. No one is ever going to find another tank this beautifully unique.

If there was some way to preserve the tank, donate it to a school? or learning museum? Anything? I'd take that over selling it to someone who may never appreciate it.

1000 is the start price on those, does not include all the extras like holes, a stand etc.

Not to mention the uniqueness of this tank, the fact it's a piece of artwork, and it's probably as close to indestructible as possible.

The sad part, despite all those things, it's a used tank :( And tanks seem to depreciate as bad as a motor home or some model cars. Just make sure you take LOTS of picture of the tank as well as show your photos of your phenomenal wood work. It's not going to be easy to find a buyer who will appreciate the tank for being a work of art as much as a functional tank. If I had the money and a way to get it, (and of course somewhere to put it) I'd buy it just on principal. It's like a mater piece that needs to be preserved.

Thank you very much.

It has been setting without water for quite some time now. I keep threatening the wife that I want to go back to fresh water and some simple filtration. Or, an amphibian tank of some sort. Just this week I tore out the plumbing to the sump.

I guess I am having trouble deciding to let go. So much work into it, and as you mention, I do believe there are very few tanks of this caliber in existence.

Where in NC are you? I travel to Wilmington occasionally.;)

You just need to work on that spot....

I hate that the Photobucket links are blocked. I would upgrade the account to fix it, but it looks like the only option that allows the 3rd party hosting is $400 per year. Not doing that!

Just a test. I am closer to selling and need to find a way to link the photos again.
