all i want to say is that.. yesterday the heat finally took away (killed) my cleaner shrimp .. (i've had him for a year now ><).. and then it bleached one of my sps coral. therefore.. today.. i bought myself a chiller.... killed the heat down to 79 degrees.. it was at 86-87.. sigh.. i thought the fan would od it.. but i guess it didnt.
anways just wanted to share my experience..

mine was 85 the other day i bought a ac machine for the room my tank is in. it was 140 but cheaper then a chiller...

sorry to here your bad news

I notice you have 150W of light over a 12g tank... What is your setup?

Perhaps there is something else you could do to improve temps. Evaporative cooling could probably get the job done, but you'd have a lot of topping off to do. I think a chiller is the right way to go

Theop, i recently upgraded my tank into a 46 gallon.. >< and the evaporation cooling worked on the 12 gallon, but isnt too good for the 46.. :(

Oops, I can't read too well. :)

You could probably make evap. cooling work, but it would require an open top with lots of fans

In the long run you're probably better off with the way you are doing it.
