Not much. This week I had to have my AC units moved, more trees cut down and the utilities companies came out and marked the underground lines.
Next will be the silt fence and then need for wait for it to be inspected.
Brainstorming on the lower level temperate lagoon that will be kept between 60 and 65f. I have a meeting with the concrete and pool companies about a monolithic pour - something like a touch pool. I spoke to several fiberglass companies but I can't justify tank and the freight costs. 3/4 round with a window is above 10k and add another 2k for the shipping. Would also need to put it together and fiberglass it. Also thinking about an aluminum above ground swimming pool 8*12 oval. Chopping it to 36 inches and buying some extra panels to make the length 8 * 18 or 20 with cross supports. I have a friend that put windows in his 16 ft above-ground indoor shark pool and it worked out very well. Not sure.
A poured concrete pool would be a nightmare to remove if I had to move and sell the house but it would be nice.
Broke ground! Pics tomorrow. I've r/o concrete. Either fiberglass, FRP, or tile. Not sure yet for lower lagoon. Probably going to go with something similar for the upper lagoon.
Something I would look into being up north would be the foam formed pools. Basicaly they cut foam pieces that interlock, then you backfill the outside with gravel or base rock and plaster the inside. The benefit is that your end pool is like r20 rated and being up north that should cut your heating costs by around 50%. If I recall the price was around $2-4k for an oval about 8x20'
I am curious how things will be viewed and enjoyed in a tank like this. Will you have to scuba to really enjoy it or will there be view ports or an observation dome or something?
