230/3

The 3130/2 has a slight advantage in performance. The 230/3 is a bigger profile and blocks more light that is why it isn't so good for in tank use.

Thank you for your answer, I think also that the 3130/2 would be better for me now.

the 3130/2 can it really be used in a 250 gal tank ? ( in case I could have one in the future ;) )

thank you for your time

It depends, 250 gallon fish only or soft coral reef yes, SPS only- no. For SPS I would not pass 180 gallons.

I have another question:

is there something I can buy to make the 3130/2 skim the surface (a prefilter maybe) ?

thank you very much

I just figure out there will be a new 9000 series :(

do you know now when they will be out?

are they so powerful? how about there abilities to remove particles?

betwen the "old" 3130/2 and the 9010 wich one have your preference?

kind regards

The 9010 will be better but it won't be out for a few months, February I am told, when used in tank the difference will be marginal because you have to run it on recirculating mode to avoid the bubbles being relesed into the tank, when used in sump you can run it open loop and the performance will be almost double.

Hello Roger :)

Merry Christmas !

sorry to bother but I would like to know if there will be a problem if I have the 3130/2 or the 230/3 with the Wavebox ? because of the water level.

Thank you.

I used the Wavebox with the Reefpack (3130/2) at IMAC and it worked well enough. It did knock dubbles into the aquarium so their were more microbubbles than their might have been otherwise but the skimmer itself functioned well.
