24 Gal Aquapod Please Help Me

Hey all,
This is my first post- and I need help.

I set up a 24 gal aquapod with mh lighting back in April.

There are 2 chambers in the back of tank.

I used live crushed coral.

For some reason the tank is still cloudy- the levels seem to be ok.

Even after water changes it remains cloudy.

There is a small huma in tank and a blue velvet damsel that is beginning to show signs of head rot.

The coral in tank is decoral- the fake stuff (I didn't want to scratch tank.)

I have bioballs, biomax, floss and added purigen to help ease the cloudiness- and nothing has helped. The medium is in the first chamber.

I did add a small piece of plastic to maximize the suface skimming ability.

Does anyone know what i can do to get this tank crystal clear.

Many thanks,

Humaguy

mine had stuff on the surface and what i did turn the nozle for the flow half way up so the water go more into the sponge, and i add some carbon and it looks clear...

Thanks

Thanks

Tiburon thanks for the reply.

I have the nozzle pointed upwards to ensure lots of surface action.

I will try adding carbon or perhaps a chemi-pure bag. Although I would have expected the purigen to help out and it did not.

FYI- I cut a piece of plastic off a tape cassette box and added it the top of the inflow. It really helped to clean the surface- if you try it make sure to keep an eye on the levels in you rear compartments as it will affect that.

I am really dumbfounded by my cloudiness- I can't figure this out and it is making me crazy!!

Thanks again and Merry Xmas,

Humaguy

Tiburon,

I don't have a picture but the piece is the exact same length as the removable pieces the tank comes with. It is approx. 1/2 inch high. I just slid it into the grate and it def. helps skim the surface. I also glued a smaller piece of plastic to it on a 45 degree angle to help ensure a nice current. I can take a picture but not sure how to add it to these posts. Can you tell me how?

Thanks again,

Huma
