24 gallon aquapod

What type of seahorse can go in a 24 gallon aquapod? I would like to put maybe moon sand in it along with a 105 gph powerhead to go with the stock one?

I would like to get yellow seahorses, can anyone think of any kind that would work?

Can any other fish go with seahorses such as some type of goby or any other kind of nano fish? Thanks.

heat will most likely be a problem with the aquapod. seahorse shouldn't be kept over 74F because any higher and the diseases become easier to pick up.
Becareful with flow, seahorses need very little flow and also they change colors based on many factors so "yellow" is not a classification of any type. some fish can, yes i think people have had sucess with gobys, there are other types though take a look at seahorse . org they have a library with tons of info and even a compatibility list

The aquapods have some easy mods that can be done to them to make them seahorse safe. This includes things like sealing the fan and leaving the lid open, fairly easy.

You could do a pair of kuda and a couple smaller gobies with no problem IMO.

There is an online vendor called seahorsesource.com Tey have several seahorses to choose from and I'm sure would not mind giving you better directionson how to modify the tank if your buying from them. I know Dan has worked with that model before.

Anyone have pics of their seahorse tanks? Has anyone ever ordered from seahorsesource.com? I like it that they are trained on frozen mysis already! :D Should you put any macro algae in the tank for them or are fake plants from a fish store better? Can any types of coral go in a seahorse tank like maybe xenia/mushrooms/zoos?

Does this look good for a seahorse tank?

24 gallon aquapod (maybe mod it if it overheats)
45 gallon heater
maxijet (105 gph) if needed unless the stock flow on the aquapod is good enough
tahiti moon sand (might look good with seahorses?)
Base rock (left overs from the other tank w/ a LR to seed it)
Macro algae or fake plants of some sort

Does that list look good for a seahorse tank or is there anything missing?

Lots of people order from seahorsesource.com Do a search and see all the rave reviews.

I would use a smaller heater IMO. I'm surprised the aquapod doesn't come with one. YOu want to set it at 72F.

Macro algae is cool as it looks good and also aids in filtration and )2 production.

Plans sounds good.
