I have a 24 gallon jbj nanocube! it has a 72 watt fixture! i was wondering if that was strong enough to keep a red carpet anemone! ps the anemone will b the only thing in there besides a maroon clown pair! thanks!

I don't think pc lighting is going to have the oomph to het the job done. Pc lights don't have good par value at the bottom of tanks which is where it is Going to gravitate to. If you can afford a red carpet get 150 watt metal halide and protect that investment. I like the idea of a nano cube carpet. Although 24 is a bit small.

No, I think 24g is too small. If that's the size of your system then look into the Mini Maxi anemones. They're kind of like "nano carpets" :)

Well I had 9 BTA's in a 20. BUt i had to do away with the PC lighting it just didn't work out like i wanted for the BTA's. T5HO lighting did fine though. And metal halides are almost too much for a BTA in that system but it would thrive after a long acclimation process.
My first rose BTA was under T5HO lighting in a 30 and did fantastic then I switched to PC in my 20 and I needed to supplement the lighting with a another cfl bulb till i bought the metal halide. I had an LTA that was awesome but i mixed it with a condy and a BTA and PLOWIE they all died in a day.
I have mini maxis in a 30 gallon tank with my Green Haddoni its 10-12 inches under T5HO and its coloring up and liking things but its a year old system. And I havent had them like that long enough to say it absolutely will work. But its doing good so far. :beachbum:

if you have a jbj nano get the 150 halide hood or the led and you can keep any nem you want. but the carpets will outgrow it in a year. i raise tons of bubbles in my old 24 halide nano. and i had a purple lta as well. 74w is not enough to keep a nem. it will survive not thrive for a few months, but then it will eventually bleach out.

BTA is the natural host (the one and only) for maroons. I would suggest you go that route for that size tank. In general BTAs are hardier, would acclimate to the current lighting, assuming you change out the PCs every 8 or 9 months. And your maroon will go it it immediately, almost guaranteed. You will want to get an anemone at least three times in diameter to the length of your maroon.
