Definitely not the best bang for your buck. You will need all new bulbs at the tune of $25/bulb.
A Tek is a MUCH better choice.
As far as LEDs go, you could do an 18" Ecoxotic Panorama PRO fixture for about $400. You could maybe get away with one AI Sol for $400 or a Nano for $300. I think you are pushing it with an AI though. They don't have the greatest spread.

I'm leaning more towards the 24" Ecoxotic because if I decide later to put this on a longer tank then this setup would be a little more flexible?
how would I mount this on my tank? my tank is glass with rims all over. I'm guessing cut a piece of glass as my top and place the LED lights right on top?

No. Get the tank mount, stand mount or hanging kit. Ecoxotic has plenty of mounting options to use.

No. Ecoxotic has MAP pricing so you will pay the same just about anywhere. Some places will have 10% off codes once in a while that you can use.
