I have ordered the 240/3 and the optional in-sump mounting legs, and am in the process of designing the sump itself. What is the perfect depth for the water in the sump for operating this skimmer?
The legs haven't been made in almost a year so I don't know if you will be able to find them. The new brackets allow you to hang the skimmer to the height needed so they weren't necessary. Also, the 240/3 is discontinued in 2005 so if no one has one in stock, i can no longer get them. In the new year line up the DOC Skimmers and 230/3 and 3110/2 will be the only models. This skimmer ideally is submerged about 3"
I already have the skimmer and the legs. They have arrived. What I need to know is, when the skimmer is mounted on the legs, how deep should the water be, in the sump, to run the skimmer optimally. Thanks.
Well, I think it is 6.5" but I have not worked with the skimmer stand in sometime. The skimmer has a black squiggly line indicating the water level so you could assemble the stand on to it and take a measure, the stand gives about 1" of adjustment capability.
