Alright, this tank has been around.I believe I am the fourth owner now.I helped a friend drive to Tampa and pick it up.Needless to say from day one I had tank envy.I had a little 90 gal at the time and it just wasn't enough. My friend had it for a little over a year and decided to go a different route and asked if I was interested,of course I am I said.
Now he real chore began, getting it cleared with the big boss and three little under bosses.Little ones all said yes,but big boss took some time.A week or so went by with me asking(begging) the boss lady and she finally agreed. So after jumping for joy,I had to start planning how I was going to get my current tank broken down(which was overpacked with corals)and stable while bringing the new tank and setting it up.
I began with setting up a 50gal rubbermaid stock tank with a 130wtt pc with a vortech and started transferring corals over. Then a bucket for live rock that didn't have coral attached and another bucket for the sand. All these were spread all over the house. My friend was breaking the tank down at his place and we started moving to its new home. Now getting a 48inx40in stand out a doorway that is 36in wide was a chore.Long story short we got it here safe and sound.I rebuilt the stand, replumbed everything, filled and aquascaped it over a weeks time.
the setup includes a 240g cube with a 400wt mh,120g sump,dart return, 2 vortech mp40w, icecap660,4 vho's and a reef octopuss 5000 skimmer.
It is now complete(until I decide to change something) and looks great. Now for some pics.I am not a very good photographer but here we go.
