240 Gallon FOWLR Fish List

I'm just wondering if anybody thinks it would work if I were to add another fish. My tank has been up and running for about 1 1/2 years now and there hasn't been any losses, at least in the last year. I have a 240 gallon main tank and a sump/fuge that circulates another 90-100 gallons in the basement. There's about 225 lbs of live rock. All fish seem to get along fine, even though there are a few that you think wouldn't normally. I'm more or less just looking to see if anybody thinks I'm at my bio limit, or if you think I could add 1 more show fish, maybe an Emperor Angel. My current fish list and current fish sizes are:

1 Blue Face Angel - 6"
1 Blue Line Angel - 8"
1 Flame Angel - 2 1/2"
1 Regal Tang - 7"
1 Tomini Tang - 3"
1 Purple Tang - 4 1/2"
1 Copperband Butterfly - 6"
4 Green Chromis
5 Lyretail Anthias
1 Velvet Fairy Wrasse - 4 1/2"
2 Orchid Dottybacks
1 Gold Head Goby

Thanks!

you still can add about 20 more

I also have a 240ga with about 300pounds of LR and about 50 fish, one look at my tank and you'll know I over feed :)

and use my skimmer once a week only, if I remember :)

good luck

no at all, I do have about 50 fish in my 240ga, they all get along fine

jose

but he specifically indicated "show" fish, there is a big difference between 20 large angels/tangs and 20 damsels. no way that tank could handle 2 more "show" fish much less 20 imho

46bfinGA0----I know you are been sarcastic and dont believe me, most people assure themselfs that my tank is not real or I am making things up

the truth is that I run a ozone reactor , a calcium reactor and a kalk reactor, 24 hrs a day, I dont run the skimmer but once a week, over feed the fish, there are more than 1500 snails and over 500 blue leg crabs, as the clean up crew, there is a 40ga fuge with 100 mangroves and cheato, 300 pounds of LR and 5" of sand, I do water changes once every six months and everything in my tank is in great health and flourishing

not all tanks are the same, what is working for me, may not work for some one else

but is all true, any body can and is invited to confirm this by coming by, there are pics of my tank over in maast.org, and you can post over there if someone has seen my tanks, and they will confirm it, after all I hosted the last maast meeting at my house

seamonkey, i live in dallas but working currently in san antonio, could i possibly come visit you next week? i'd love to see your tank and 50 fish

I am not sure about a show fish but you could add a stack of pipefish. They are really neat to watch.

Sure, I have a few in my tank with tangs, angelfish, anthias, clowns. I add tiger pods to the tank once a month for their food source.

no they are in the 215ga SH tank, same deal a lot of fat horses, pipes and others and skimmer once a week, the funny thing is that I bought one 4 foot tall skimmer for each tank, hooked them to individual dart pumps and I don't used them, yeah go figure LOL

you'll see them too clekchau

BTW I am sending you my address and phone #
