Glad you guys like that coris so much. I've had it so long it is just another fish to me.....but when it hadn't come up yet yesterday it became special again real quick! It was a fish that I had requested from an outfit in HI. They caught it and flew it over. $28 + about 70 in shipping! So there is a neat history in that regard.
What I feed. Basically 90% of the time it is new life spectum pellets. Then nori for the clown trig, and selcon soaked shrimp on occasion. I feed about 3 times a day and I hear that those pellets really kill the water with phosphates and nitrates, but the fish love them and thrive. I keep it like this so I can use an automatic feeder for when I'm gone if I can't have someone come by. But as we all know, it is hard to "set it and forget it" with this hobby.....you never really relax.
The new T5 lights are really nice too. 2 4x54W sets. I thought I'd need another set of them, but this seems pretty bright. Tomorrow I need to fire up the overflow and return and get that sump going.

AWESOME TANK
like the old one but bigger. i like the fish selection.
im gonna jump in on the red coris club.
I have had one for 6 months or so. he is only about 3" and already fully changed. he spends his time flipping rubble over he is good with the other fish. even the lunar wrasse.
i love him!
don't know what i'll do with him he gets big. 180 reef.

I've got T5's too now and really love them. I also am a huge supporter of the spectrum pellets - my undy and coris love them.
Juggler - did you get your coris when it was already in adult coloration? Mine is bigger than yours, and still in mostly juvie colors. Can't wait to see her change fully.

Question about the coris: From what I have read, they really like to burrow in sand. Have you always kept your's in a bare bottom tank? I've been debating about getting one, as I'm having a hard time getting the last of the three fish in my stocking plan (a Pterois radiata or antennata to go along with the P. volitans and Siganus magnificus already in the tank). They are supposed to be lively, would would add some color and movement to the tank.

My coris comes out about 15-30 minutes before lights on, and stays out and active throughout the day. He was very shy for the first 2-3 weeks though, often bolting into the sandbed at the slightest of outside movement. He's an absolute pig and really adds a nice splash of color and personality to my tank. Couldn't be happier with him.
Edit: I don't know if a wrasse might bother lions - they are always moving and may even try to nip the lions' fins

I have had the clown since 4/1/06.
My tank is bare bottom except for the rear left corner where there is about 6" of sand boxed in with rock real tall so it doesn't splash out. Like a sand box for the coris. It is active all day as well. Sometimes it will go down after eating and then come back up for a while. So I'd say it it out 90% of the time when the lights are on.

I got my coris when he was still juvi color.
i guess they all bloom at a diff rate.
may depend on water temps and diet too!
My coris is active all day! at night he does burrow down. i love that fish. i cant wait till he gets even bigger. growth seems to be slow on all of my fish. i think i need a better skimmer. but this isn't my thread sorry!
it was a clever idea to pile sand in the back for him, im surprised he keeps it so tidy. mine digs a ton some days and others not much. sometimes the tank will be cloudy all day.
