240g RR 8x2x2 setup

I've decided i've got enough salt running through my veins to have converted the 240 over to salt. It's got dual overflows, canopy, sump and 530w of retrofit PC lighting already installed. I've come here for hints/tips/suggestions for making this a successful startup with as little impact on my wallet as possible. I'm going to take it a bit at time for the tank's sake and budgeting reasons. For that reason I'm going FOWLR first with reef safe fish. I've been given lighting and skimmer ideas, as well.

4 250w Ushio SE 10K's in Lumenarcs with 250w Icecap ballasts.
ASM G4+ for my skimmer.

The lighting needs to be a blinding white, can handle anything I fancy, and give the ripple effect.

If anyone has any suggestions for better/cheaper options or has anything they'd suggest for sale cheaply or can send me in the right direction so that this huge project won't go down like the Titanic, let me know. I also accept donations, too! I'll worry 'bout the fish/coral selections when the time comes and I'm ready for them.

Here's the thread to my 225 rr build. I've done all the research that I could and went with what was the cheapest but still high quality products. I will say this, I still have my ASMG3 but it is nothing like the Octopus skimmer. And I'd never buy another ASM becuse there built very flimsy and have junk pumps.

The OCTOPUS DNW-200 at $390 is a bit closer to my range, and rated at 400g. The $700 one u chose is just, well, rediculously out of my budget when I've got other high dollar items to consider, too. I'd read your thread the night before, actually... good reading!

luminarc and icecap 250w arent going to be cheap (the new style icecap or the older style ballast)



luminarcs are sometimes sold in the selling area never really see them sold locally or just contact the www.thereefstop.com


maybe get 2 luminarcs and put them on a light mover to save some money
