24g AquaPod / FOWLR

Okay, so I have an 85 gal tank with a peaceful community and a few soft corals. Lots of live rock and a dsb. I love my fish!

I also have a 24g AP with 70w MH and lots of corals, etc. (Open top) with the EcoSystem refugium on back. (Very pretty)

Now I want something totally different!

I recently purchased a 24 g AquaPod with power compacts built in the lid. The only problem with this set up is filtration. I am not mechanically inclined and not a do it your selfer. I have an Aqua C nano skimmer, but of course, can't close the lid all the way when it's in use. I have added 20 lbs. aragalive seeded with sand from the original tank and enough live rock to make a nice 3 tier cave formation. I had originally planned on a Dwarf Eel since the lid would supposedly keep it from escaping, but now I'm having second thoughts. The sponge filter and water changes may not be enough with keeping the eel fed and happy. Not to mention the $365 price tag on the eel, but I really want a Blue Spotted Toby. (Canthigaster papua) Unfortunately, I can't find one anywhere! With this set up in mind, what would you suggest?

Any and all input would be greatly appreciated!

is that the price at ur LFS? that seems crazy because the ones here are so damn cheap less then 190$ candain, and usually everything is cheaper in the USA as far a marine fish go. so first of all i suggest you look for another place to buy em.

I had also thought about a rose anemone with a pair of cinnamon clowns. Not sure if stock lighting would be enough for the bta, though.

Run the tank skimmer-less. Do weekly water changes. I(t's only 2.5 gallons for a 10% change-easy.) Stick some macros in the back to suck up nitrates and GET YOUR EEL. If you love them, it is worth it.

That's what I thought, too. I'm really leaning toward a dwarf puffer now, though. Do you think both would be to much for a 24g tank?
