24g aquapod lighting/heating issues

I was thinking of getting a aquapod 24g with the hqi lighting, but i am concerned about heating issues. I know they make one with the 150w hqi and one with the 70w hqi. Does anyone out there have this same tank with the same hqi's 70w or 150w that can tell me what there temps. get to? Also if i was to get the aquapod with the 70w hqi would i still be able to keep most corals/clams?

Thanks

I have a 70watt and have no heat issues at all, it has never gotten above 81 degrees. I havent kept any clams in there but I have a feeling it might not be enough, or atleast they will have to be placed high.

Get the aquapod 24g with 150w HQI. Here in So Calif can get warm in the summer but a fan reduced the increase in temps that mine experienced. Needless to say there's also the increase in evaporation.

I've read the 70w version appears somewhat dim in a 24g. And in turn those same owners upgrade to the 150w later on.

Strong 150w HQI = pretty tank (especially w/ Phoenix 14k bulbs)

i agree. i have a 70w over my 24 right now and it is not bright at all... i wish i started off with a 150w

I'm actually wanting to get a 24GAL as well, and you guys mentioned that the HQI's are a little weak for it. I'm assuming that this means the PC lights are absolutely horrible when it comes to lighting? TIA (Not to steal the original thread)

APBorisov, I think pc lights are fine it's just not enough light to keep hard corals or clams. They are saying the 70watt verses the 150watt the 70watt is weak, so i wouldn't be able to keep clams or harder corals. Pc lighting will work fine for fish only or soft corals.
