24g nano ccube mod questions

I have a 24 g nano cube. I am planning to make a FOWLR and maybe be some LPS. What I have learned are following:
1. take out all the sponge and bio-ball and cermics. only have one sponge in chamber #1
2. Have cheto in chamber #2, remove the film on the back, have palm light on the back. Also with some small pieces of live rocks.
3. max jet 1200 in chamber 3 and use hydro flo.
4. reverse one of the fan, so one is intake and other is out put.
I do not think I want to mess with the lights right now.
My questions are how much small pieces of live rock I need in chamber #2 (lbs)?
Any other mod I need/should do to make a better cube?

I personally don't do the fuge in the middle chamber, I like how Purigen & Chemi-pure work for me.

Maxijet 1200 is a good idea.

Rethink the sponge, go with filter floss that you can throw away weekly or cut the sponge in half to make it easier to clean weekly.
