24gal. aquapod skimmer

Evening all,

I have been out of the reef scene for about 2yrs... No longer can stand it and just ordered a Aquapod 24gal with the 70 HQI...Would of liked the 150 hqi but the price I paid for this I couldn't pass it up..

What I am wondering is, what is most AP owners using for a skimmer?....

I have the 12 gallon aquapod. I know that people do not like the fission since the performance doesn't seem to be that good.

What I did was blocked off the bottom and middle vents in chamber one with a piece of plexiglass. Now the water has to pour over the top and it does a little surface skimming.

Not a real skimmer but it helps. I have read people use HOB types so I'm sure someone else will chime in.
