does this leach chemicals like phosphates?
do I need to rinse/soak it first or can I just throw it in a new tank with some live rock and start cycling without any issues?

Hi, herbklee, thanks for your question. AquaMaxx rock does not affect the aquarium nitrogen cycle and may therefore be added to new aquariums and established tanks alike. It is completely reef-safe and will not leach any undesirable contaminants into your delicate saltwater system.

As far as rinsing it goes, it certainly wouldn't hurt. Soaking isn't necessary. But rinsing it may help remove any "dust" that could cloud up the tank when you first put it in there.

Please let us know if you have any additional questions. We're here to help!
