Please post pics of your tanks... I know growth is outstanding with these but I'd like to see the colors your corals achieve...

Rich, are you running actinics as well?

Matter of fact i am. 4 VHO, 110w URI 03 Actincs :D...i had two on my 55g and liked the look, so i went with an Icecap 660 setup for the 120.

hi,i purchased an xm 250 watt double ended with an ice cap ballast from premium.living in south africa is tough to get good equipment and acroporas,i have seen great color and growth with this bulb

I am running 400 watts and am unhappy with the color, that is why I was asking about the actinics. Mine are very white, yellow looking. I am running blueline e ballasts.

jeremy I have a friend who has problems with XM's turning yellow too and he runs blueline e-ballasts as well. Then on the PSU hub tank that uses magnetic ballasts they look wonderful. *shrug*

Check Sanjay's site and I think you will find that the different ballasts produce differet color temps with these bulbs. That is why the magnetics look bluer (or whiter, depending on your perspective).

Jeremy Blaze, switch to m59 ballasts and you will loose that annoying yellow from the bulbs. sanjays site says that the 10k xm 400w on m59 runs at like 11 or 12k where as on your ballast is is a bit under 10k
