250W Mini-Pendant - Insulation Needed ???

I have three PFO 250W Mini-Pendants I am mounting to the underside of my Oceanic 135RR cherry canopy lid. Is there any need to insulate the interface between the pendant and the wood?

Do not mount the pendant directly to the wood. Get some kind of spacer between the wood and the canopy. Some ideas might be a small piece of tile or ceramic. Ideally this would be around 1/2" in diameter or smaller. You want the piece to be small such that the pendant has an air space completely around the pendant.
