250wt HQI Aqua Medic Pendant over a 24Nano?

Is this going to be too much light? It would be on the leg mounts, so maybe only 8inchs from the surface. Is this going to cook my tank or bleach my softies?

I would say yes, at the very most on a nano, let alone softies just go with a 150w or even a 70w would be perfect. if you go with the 250w you will almost deffinitly have temp problems and bleaching if you dont aclimate very slow. I hope this helps FWIW

for a 24 inch nano, I'd go with a 150watt. with a 150 you should be able to keep any sps. I have seen 30 gallon oceanic cubes with 250watt's, but they mount the pendants a bit higher than 8".
